Salesforce Coworker: who needs the $50 licence?

Salesforce now offers Coworker for $50 per person a month. Check included searches, connected-data costs and rollout dates before adding it across your team.

The useful part

Have the budget owner price the full task, the Salesforce administrator confirm access, and the team lead choose the first group of users. Buy around features your account can use today.

Start with the work that needs help

If colleagues spend time gathering customer information from different systems, decide which group would benefit from an assistant and what a useful result looks like. That gives the budget owner something concrete to compare with the cost of adding licences.

On November 4, Salesforce announced a new Agentforce Coworker option at $50 per user per month. Coworker helps employees find information and carry out supported work using Salesforce records and approved connected sources.

Access still needs the right setup. Salesforce lists Enterprise, Unlimited and Agentforce 1 Editions, an activated Salesforce data service, and the required licences and permissions. Ask your administrator to confirm those prerequisites before budgeting for a wider rollout.

Check what the licence covers

The current pricing page includes all Coworker searches and 30 MB of indexing per user each month. Indexing means preparing connected information so it can be searched. Ask what happens when your team needs more.

For ten users, the advertised Coworker licence component would be $500 a month. That is a simple illustration, not a quote for your complete Salesforce setup.

Salesforce also offers usage-based payment for AI actions. Ask which actions and data services your chosen task uses, whether they are covered by your agreement, and what else is charged. Do not read included searches as a promise that every connected job is unlimited.

Have the budget owner compare that full quote with the licences and usage charges you already pay. Confirm contract length, regional availability and any setup work with your account representative.

Separate now from later

The announcement lists Google Workspace and Microsoft 365 connections, saved conversations, reusable task instructions called Skills, and the per-user purchase option as available now.

Microsoft Teams access and new iOS, Mac and Windows apps are listed for general availability during November. Confirm that a required app or connection is enabled for your account before making it part of the team’s operating plan.

Daily Digest and scheduled tasks are expected in December. A plan that depends on automatic recurring work should wait for confirmed release and account access. Prepare the task instructions now, then revisit the decision when it is available.

Give the first rollout clear owners

Our perspective: the clearer licence price makes a focused comparison easier. It does not establish how much time your team will save. Choose one repeated customer-information task and measure the time needed to review and use the result.

New email and file connections also deserve an access check. Salesforce says supported work uses applicable permissions and configured controls. Ask the administrator to demonstrate those boundaries, including any actions that need approval.

The team lead can then decide whether the result is useful enough to expand. We have not tested Coworker.

  1. Before adding users, confirm the edition, licences, data service and features available in your account.
  2. Get a complete written price for the chosen task, including any separately charged work.
  3. Use approved test information to review source access, result quality and human approval of changes.
  4. Expand only when the process owner accepts the result and the budget owner understands the ongoing cost.
