Growing your app? Keep checking the work people already use
Replit's new ViBench test follows an app as features are added. It offers a useful lesson: check how new ideas work with the details already in place.
Keep familiar tasks in your review as the app grows. Existing records, a new account, and two people working together can reveal details worth improving.
A useful app keeps changing
Your first working screen is a lovely moment. The next idea often follows quickly: another person needs access, a request needs a status, or a saved item needs editing.
On October 28, Replit released ViBench 2.0, a test of how AI tools build whole products over time. Each build begins with an empty project and receives features one at a time. An AI reviewer then tries the finished product in a browser.
The test covers 17 products, 241 feature requests, and 544 checking plans. In the published results, the leading models passed more than 90% of individual plans, while only about 49% to 65% of their complete builds passed every plan. Those are results from this particular test, rather than a prediction about your own app.

Pay attention to where features meet
Replit reports that many remaining problems appeared where features worked together. That is a helpful place to focus your own review.
Imagine a request tracker. Someone changes a request, another person reads it, and an older saved view is still open. You want everyone to see the right information and keep the work they have already done.
You can describe that situation without knowing how the app is programmed. Your knowledge of how people share work gives you useful checks to bring into a build.
Make the next review a little more realistic
After adding a feature, return to a few familiar jobs. Use made-up records so you can explore comfortably.
- Open information saved before the latest change and check that it still makes sense.
- Try the task from a new account with no earlier activity.
- If the tool is shared, have two people work on the same example.
- Write down what should happen when their changes meet.
Learn to follow the whole task
The encouraging lesson is how concrete this skill can be. You are learning to follow a task across screens, people, and changes, using examples you understand.
A practical workshop can help you turn those examples into repeatable checks. If someone is building for you, ask them to include earlier work in each demonstration. You can keep adding useful ideas while making sure the people already using the app remain part of the review.
