How to hire an AI software developer for a complete first release
Choose an AI software developer by the working product they can deliver, the checks they run and who owns it after launch.

Decide what the first release must accomplish
AI can help a development team produce code and explore options. A business buying software still needs someone responsible for understanding the need, choosing a suitable approach, checking the result and operating the product after launch.
Before hiring an AI software development company, define the users and the useful first result. The tools used to write the code should support that decision.

Clarify the role you are buying
An AI SaaS developer builds software delivered as an online service, potentially with AI capabilities inside it. An AI agent developer may focus on a system that uses information and tools to complete a defined task. Ask what the proposed engagement actually delivers.
A Python AI developer describes a combination of programming and AI skills, while an AI architect may concentrate on the design and connections between components. Ask who handles research, interface design, testing and ongoing operations alongside the proposed technical work.
Use the same project example to compare suppliers. Ask who owns each part of the journey and what help remains outside the quoted scope.
Separate AI in the product from AI used to build it
A product can be developed with AI assistance without exposing an AI feature to its users. Conversely, a product with an AI feature still needs conventional decisions about accounts, records, payments, access and support.
Describe both commitments in the proposal. If the product uses a model during normal operation, include usage costs, quality evaluation and a useful fallback when that service is unavailable.
Make the first release complete and bounded
Choose a journey that begins with a real user need and ends with a useful result. Include confirmation, corrections, errors and the information needed by the next person. Defer optional features while preserving the complete task.
For an illustrative customer tool, test account access, the main request, a correction and the final status. Test how the customer and staff see the same request after the correction.
Keep engineering review visible
GitHub's documentation explains that AI-generated suggestions need review and validation and may be inaccurate. Ask the team how generated work is checked in your project, including important business rules and access boundaries.
Ask for working demonstrations, acceptance results, known limitations and a list of the journeys ready for release.
Establish ownership and continuing costs
Keep the project, domain, hosting and essential service accounts under an agreed ownership arrangement. Record external subscriptions and the work needed for releases, monitoring and changes.
Ask what a different supplier would receive at handover. The business needs the current source, configuration instructions, data arrangements and operating knowledge, rather than access to a demonstration alone.
AI App Studio can help build a useful software product with a clear first release. Book a call with the users, business need and outcome you want to deliver.
