How to set up analytics and conversion tracking
Define the customer action worth measuring and verify what your website, analytics and advertising systems record when it happens.

Choose the action that matters
When a website receives visits but the business cannot explain which ones become useful enquiries or purchases, better measurement may help. Analytics implementation services should start with the decisions those measurements will support.
Choose the meaningful customer actions before adding more charts or tracking tools.

Define the action and the business result
A button click, a submitted enquiry and a qualified conversation are different events. Decide which one answers the question you are asking and where the later result is recorded.
For an enquiry form, record when the system accepts a request. Where appropriate, connect it to qualification in the sales system so you can distinguish useful enquiries from spam.
Google's recommended-event guidance distinguishes actions such as generating a lead and completing a purchase. It explains that recommended events need implementation and context. Verify each configured action by performing it and checking where it appears.
Scope the setup and its dependencies
GA4 setup services can include event definitions, configuration, reporting and verification. Conversion tracking setup may also connect measurement to advertising systems. A Google Tag Manager consultant can help manage how website tags are deployed. Ask which of those responsibilities the engagement includes.
PostHog implementation may support questions about how people use a product. Select tools according to the journey and decisions, then confirm data handling, access and the actual account features required. Avoid collecting information simply because a tool allows it.
Verify one real journey from beginning to end
Use known test actions and check what appears in each intended destination. Include a successful submission, a rejected one and a repeated interaction. Decide how duplicates are handled and how internal testing is distinguished from customer activity.
Check the effect of account boundaries, payment redirects, device changes and the applicable consent arrangement. Recorded behaviour will not represent every person or every interaction. The report should explain the important gaps rather than imply perfect attribution.
Keep discoverability separate from measurement
Technical SEO services address whether search engines can access and understand relevant pages, including page structure, links and indexing signals. Analytics answers different questions about observed visits and actions. If search visibility is the problem, inspect indexing and findability as separate work.
If both jobs are commissioned together, ask for separate deliverables and acceptance evidence. A business should know whether the problem is that people cannot find the page, cannot complete the journey or cannot be measured reliably.
Leave a maintainable measurement plan
The handover should name events, their meaning, where they are triggered and who owns changes. Recheck important journeys when forms, checkout or application flows change. A working installation can become misleading after an apparently unrelated product update.
AI App Studio can help define and implement measurement for a useful business journey. Book a call with the decision your current reports cannot support.
